This was prepared on behalf of Firefighter Hyde by Mr Craig Jones of Thompson’s solicitors. This was subsequent to the application for FBU legal aid made and approved 16th April 1999 Mr Jones was not aware that firefighter Hyde had already accepted the offer of liability and compensation offered by Suffolk County Council. From recollection the process set out in the consent order was designed so as not to exclude further litigation on the breach of contract issue.
